Good and bad points.... First the good. The location is great. It's relatively easy to find and there's ample parking. You can walk to any of the attractions in Caernarfon and it's a short drive into Snowdon, Anglesey or most of the other North Wales attractions. The public areas are very nice with a good bar serving snacks (such as... more

The Celtic Royal is central and is an attractive building. Inside, the ground floor has been renovated to maximise the historic aspects of the building while upstairs is obviously scheduled for the same renovation. We booked a double room for three nights in July and paid upfront but when we arrived were not impressed with the room (tiny, only one... more

Stayed at the Celtic Royal for 6 nights from Wed 25th of June, I selected the town of Caernarfon as a centre, to do some travelling in North Wales, like:- Llandudno, Betws-y-coed, Pwllheli, but the most important to climb Snowdon. the old ancient town of Caernarfon was the best place to do this. and the Celtic Royal or the prefered... more

A fantastic hotel situated in the picturesque castle town of Caernarfon and well placed to explore wonderful north west Wales. The staff are extremely friendly, the food excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean. Well worth a visit. more

First of all the Hotel is in an excellent location!! We arrived at the bus stop in the middle of town only to realize there is one right in front of the hotel! We proceeded to check in and the staff informed us we would be getting a bigger room. We said "Great! It's our Honeymoon!" With a smile, she... more

The Celtic Royal Hotel is a large hotel with a lot of business meetings going on while I was there. I think the rooms are in some need of refurbishment. My stay was acceptable but if you are in the area on holiday, look for something with a little more personality. I found the rates high for what I received.... more

Fab public rooms-well above average. Super swimming pool and gymnasium. Rooms very average which is a bit of let down after the splendour of the reception and the stunning brochure. More travel lodge than u would be expecting. Food was adequate and very reasonably priced. They seem to take a lot of saga coach tours which is no problem unless... more

A generally good hotel. Building looks impressive from the outside and reception area with its open staircase is also a feature. Nice lounges and seating areas also leading off from reception. Room was fine, if unexciting. Main downside for us was that we had booked in as a family with a young baby and were allocated a room with only... more

Arriving off the ferry on a cold wet July day and into the warm lobby of the Celtic Royal Hotel started my weekend off on a good note. The receptionists were happy, efficient and pleasently welcoming. Checkin was simple and a lift took us straight up to a beautiful room overlooking Caernarfon. After a hot bath, and a few hours of... more

Stayed at the hotel for 2 days it is in an excellent location near to the centre and within walking distance of the Welsh Highland Railway (which was the purpose of our visit). The hotel was very clean, staff very efficient and friendly. The room was clean with a lovely bathroom. We stayed on a b and b basis and... more
