Me and my husband stayed in the annex building on the 1st floor looking out onto the car park. The welcome on arrival wasn't very welcoming was left to find things ourselves and was told no emergancy procedures or had instructions on how to contact anyone with a problem/emergancy. Our room was very big and made a grand first impression because of the antique furniture in the historical building. The bed was a bit soft though. Bathroom and shower cabin door didn't close wel. We have just returned from a one night stay at Gales and tend to agree over the car parking issue. The archway into the car park is tight and the parking area is small but there are a number of car parks within 200 yds of Gales which are surprisingly cheap and free after 1700 hrs. Bedroom was extremely well renovated and furnished. The wine bar is an excellent place to stay for meals, with interesting menu, friendly staff and good wines. more
