Friendly welcome. Clean, warm room with comfortable bed. BUT In the morning I found the entire building was locked up with no staff or other residents on site. I waited in vain until 9.25am for someone to appear and provide the booked breakfast. I would recommend Abbey Grange If you want to be left on your own in a deserted... more

We have just come back from a 4 night break at Abbey Grange Hotel. The service we recieved from here was second to none. The room we stayed in was very well presented, nice and clean. The food in the hotel was resonably price and they had a good menu. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We got chatting... more

My family and i liked the look of this place and it's cheap roadside advertisements for food etc, so we gave it a try, 3 of us went for the chicken, and my son in law opted for the liver & onions, which he said was eatable. I just don't know what to say about our chicken, except that if... more

Have read the previous reviews with interest. I think people expect to pay the bare minimum but receive 5* accommodation in return. Yes the hotel is a little dated, but it has lots of other great attributes that more than make up for it! We stayed during a wet November, the hotel had roaring log fires, friendly staff and fantastic... more

Do not under any circumstances eat at this hotel. We stopped for lunch...thankfully not as a resident. The frontage of the hotel looks well kept and inviting....never judge a book by it's cover. Once inside the grim unwelcoming manner of the bar tender should have made us turn and walk away. I selected to eat from the "Fresh Fish "... more

This is exactly what it says it is. A 2* establishment, in glorious countryside. Room for 2 adults and 3 children was ideal. Had a new telly in room for kids to watch DVD's (on dvd player we brought ourselves) in the evening. Room clean and tidy, plenty of storage, bath was a big plus as kids got dirty out... more

Just don't bother with this place. Our room was outdated, basic, cold and not clean. We asked to be moved, but the next one was just as bad. Then, having been out for a walk, we returned to find the attitude and aggression of the anti-English manager to be staggering. We apparently had a real cheek to complain - "must... more
