Just left the hotel feeling full after a lovely breakfast. Glad we didn't check the The reviews first, although the hotel is old and a little dated, we found it to be very warm very homely. The room, number one, was nice. The decor was dated, But the four poster bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights... More

This place is very dated, our room has a en-suite that's from the 1970's with peeling paint and mould. Very worn decor throughout and all the food seems to be cooked in a deep fat fryer. Numerous beers/ largers were out of stock The older staff (owner's?) were not very friendly. The rooms remind me of a naff seaside B&B.... More

On arriving at the hotel it looks impressive with large grounds and picnic tables and rides for the kids. Adjacent to the hotel is the Llangollen Brewery which is a small micro-brewery and the hotel always served 3 of their beers. Apparently the chef was the brewer. Yes, ok, the hotel is tired and in need of some TLC and... More

I am kicking myself that I didn't check trip advisor first and believe the website what was I thinking!! This is a tired dirty old hotel, the cleaning is sub standard, the 4 poster bed is a total joke, with the frame only just holding together and purple drapes not matching anything in the room, plus there is no top!... Booked for Easter and due to adverse weather conditions snow and poor driving conditions in Wales we felt it better to postpone our trip because we were going to travel on the steam railway and aquaduct and that is not favourable in snow. We booked through Booking.Com and must say they were very good. They kept ringing the hotel and... More

This is the second stay here for us and we returned due to our first stay the year before being very pleasant...This time round we booked the room with the four poster and the heating was much better than our first visit in a diff room, expected as this is the best room. We arrived in the early evening, there... More

Hotel is slightly out of Llangollen (approx 2miles - £6 each way in a taxi to town centre). Plenty of parking. First impressions were disappointing - lifeless. The staff weren't very professional and we even heard the Manager swearing about a double booking and didn't seem to care about the person they had double booked. The Manager wasn't very well... This lovely old inn in a lovely location has seen much better days. You would expect little quirky foibles of a building of this age and sometimes these make a place that much more endearing. What you can never justify is thread bare carpets, tired furniture and decor and old uncomfortable matresses. ( when your business is offering weary travellers... More

Stayed here for 1 night, the food and pub was good but bedroom quality was poor, it had a kettle and television but the bed comfiness was poor, causing a sleepless night. It is quite old fashioned and dated too. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

Left standing at a very busy bar for 25 mins holding bags and children awaiting check in. After being shown to our rooms we were told we could not go back down to the bar unless we paid £32 for tickets to the party. Bathroom was very dirty and sink and bath were full of pubic hair. The couple that... More
