From check in to check out we had a wonderful time here at the Greenbank. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners Chris and Ric. Even Felix the dog played her part and was eager to greet us both. The rooms were warm and comfortable with crisp bedding and tea/coffee making facilities....much needed as it was a very damp... more

No parking spaces, windows warped so they wouldn't close, mould in bedroom, filthy shower curtain, bedside light didn't work, no wardrobe, sparse breakfast, and poor evening meal....need I go on? One of our party, quite an easy-going character, complained and threatened to call the local standards office. He then got a reduction down to £20/night (from £75). more

Stayed one night - had actually looked at Tripadvisor reviews before booking so was optimistic - but was rather shocked by the facilities in the room I was given - no.8. As I was attending the Eisteddfod at Bala accomodation in the surrounding area was in short supply and by the time I got to see the room it was... more

My partner and I stayed in the Turner Suite at the Greenbank hotel in North Wales in July of 09. We booked for 2 nights, but had such a pleasant stay we added a third night. The suite had been recently renovated, and no detail was missed. I wanted to take the bed home with me, it was so comfy.... more

Ideal for good value weekend stay to catch up with family. Very friendly welcome, good local recommendations for things to do, good quality cooked breakfast. A little shabby round the edges and small rooms but for the rates and a short stay we found it comfortable and liked the little 'boutiquey' touches. We loved Llangollen and hope to return. more

Greenbank is good value for money, clean rooms and a basic breakfast. We stayed in one of the cottages, but would go for rooms next time since the cottage (cottage 1) was dark and a very thin ceiling/floor so that every step in the upstairs bedroom can be heard in the downstairs one (and also the waste water from the... more

The brochure gave the impression that this was a boutique hotel. Unfortunately our room did not live up to this. The room was clean but basic. A small tv with no remote control, and a litlte shabby round the edges. There was also creeky floorboards and noise from the room upstairs. The restaurant was very good, as was the welcome... more

My fiance and I stayed at the greenbank for a short weekend break. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and shown to our room. The room was everything we needed and the bed very comfy. We then spent the day around the town and after a few drinks we returned to the hotel for an evening meal.... more

On a recent trip to London, I decided to travel north to Wales and stopped in LLangollen. If you are unfamiliar with this town in was a major stopping point between London and Holy Head, leaving point for Ireland. Now it is a thriving tourist town, set in a valley with the river Dee running through its heart. The town... more

Have just spent a great relaxing weekend at the Greenbank. The hosts - Ric & Chris along with all their staff were welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is stylish, comfortable and clean. The restaurant - simply the VERY best food around - all home made & locally sourced - even the marmalade & jam are made on... more
