The exterior of the hotel is quite good, but bedrooms and public facilities are dated. I could easily get over that, and I could also get over breakfast being served between 7:45 and 9:15, (its 9:30 on weekends!!!!), but I could not get over the attitude of certain staff. Hotel and location to everyone's satisfaction. All staff friendly and helpful. All areas clean and tidy, Rooms adequate as described, comfortable. Menu excellent, catered well for one person in the group on a special diet. We will be going again next year but hope for more sun next time. more

Just had a superb walking break there. When you are out all day on the mountains what counts is good food and then hot water. The food was the best I've had in a hotel of similar level. We had finished our walk by 12.30 but initially we were told that we could't check in until 14.30, however due to the fact that we were all drenched they checked and all the rooms were available so we were allowed in them early - and gave us some towels to dry off before we got to the rooms. The hotel was OK for a 3 star but for our 5 night stay no hot water to be had due to one of the hot water boilers not working so any hot water was coming from the boiler that was providing the whole hotel with heating and water and as the hotel was full with a large coach party... more

We spent a night at the Royal goat, booked over the net so never really sure what you are gonna get cause pics can be misleading. On arrival my wife and I were pleasently surprised! We stayed in Royal Goat for 2 nights August 08 and had a great time, the staff were really helpful and we had room 39 which had great views, lovely breakfast and we would definately recommend a stay there. more

This is a great hotel as a basis for exploring Snowdonia with many walks starting from the pretty village. We stayed for four nights over easter. Stopped in room 39 which was spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had amazing views to the front and side of the hotel as well as a large and very comfy bed.
