Stayed with a mate for a few days this December on a winter walking/climbing trip. Showers were pretty good and drying room was a useful facility. Communal areas clean and tidy. However our room was terrible, so damp that the walls were running with water and mould on all the surfaces. Used coffee cups under the beds etc. Combined with... more

We found the Vagabond to be well priced, warm, clean, comfortable, friendly etc. My group of three was all male and we got a clear explanation that if the shower door was closed, it was occupied by female(s) and so off limits. So no confusion there (and I therefore don't understand a previous reviewer's comment). We paid an extra few... more

I stayed with by boyfriend and another couple in August and was disappointed with hostel. The food - 'using fresh local produce' was nothing of the sort, I was expecting locally sourced food but when we asked it transpires that 'local produce' means bought from the cash & carry in Llandudno! I ould advise eating out as the prices in... more

We were a party of six and had a very clean room to ourselves. Basic but all you need to have a good sleep. Showers were really clean and hot and we had no problem with it being mixed. Their kitchen allows you to cook and store provisions and was spotless and the food we were served was very good... more

Stayed at the Vagabond for 2 nights in early June 09. Group of 6 lads on a walking expedition up Snowdon. Ideally located, roughly 15 mins drive from Pen-y-Pass. Accomodation was basic (3 bunk beds), but for £19 a night including breakfast was ideal. Contrary to previous review, alcohol is served at the bar, although bar did shut at approx... more

Staff rude, rooms unclean, noisest place I have ever stayed. Staff used our milk for guests when theirs ran out without asking us. Breakfast overcooked. Staff smoked in the hostel encouraging other guests to do the same. I wouln't recommend this place to my worst enemy. more

Stayed with large group of women. Found the showers and toilets inadequate to serve 36 people. Only 4 showers for everyone - men and women mixed. System to shut door when women in and leave open if men in - system did not work the men still came in to shower when women were showering causing some embarassment as you... more

I stayed at the vagabond on a very wet September weekend. The rooms are basic but clean, and the vagabond has good facilities such as hot showers and wet room. Best of all the vagabond has a decent bar and a great host in eric. This place is exactly what you want in a bunkhouse, clean , friendly, cheap ,... more

We stayed at the Vagabond for a weekend as part of a walking trip. The rooms were clean, well laid out and the breakfast was great! The hotel has its own bar and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Great location too! more
