we stay at cobdens quite often and i think the last review is wrong because we have never had a bad meal or drink at cobdens in fact they have just won the pub of the season (summer 2009) award by camra . Rooms are basic, but everything is clean and food is fine. The rear bar that is built into the rocky hillside is worth seeing. We stayed in rooms 6,8 and 8and1/2. Room 8and/12 is a family room and was the best of the three as it had a 2nd room with twin beds and well as the main double room. more

Cobdens is ideally located for walking/scrambling/climbing in Snowdonia. The hotel is listed as 2 star and does what is says on the tin.
