If it had rained all day we could happily have stayed in. The room and breakfast were faultless. Afon Gwyn is a gem of a guest house; like a boutique hotel. Tim couldn't have been more hospitable from the moment we arrived. We're looking forward to going back again. more

From start to finish a truly perfect place to stay. Tim was extremely welcoming and made you feel at home straight away! Our room was out of this world, spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was second to none, this carried on throughout the house also. Breakfast was again excellent and set you up for the day, and coupled... more

We stayed for two nights in the Alice Suite which was huge and wonderfully decorated. The host was exceedingly friendly. This area of Wales is exceptionally beautiful and the nearby town one of the nicest in the whole country. Of the month I spent in the UK this B&B and area was one of the highest of many highlights. more

Perfect in every way, Tim the owner is friendly but not over imposing, the hotel is imaculate, the location is fantastic just 1 minute to the river. Breakfasts are superb, car parking in front of the hotel and off the road. A very very pleasant relaxing stay, the Alice room is huge !! Thankyou for a great stay Tim. Stuart... more

We stayed in the Robinson suite where the bed was more than big enough for my 6ft4 boyfriend. the breakfast was great and there's a supply of dvds to watch in the evening if you find you can't move after... more

The reviews on this site of the Afon Gwyn Country House are very reliable. It is indeed a great place to stay! You will find very nicely appointed rooms and bathrooms, with all that you need and much that you won't find in a standard B&B. Part of our family stayed in the Alice Room which made a great place... more

This B&B truly is in a league of it's own. It has cornered the market in luxury, and seems more like a 5 star hotel than a traditional B&B. We stayed in the Alice suite, which was fantastic and enormous - 6ft square bed, huge flatscreen TV, sofa bed, arm chair, kettle and beverages, complimentary slippers, hairdryer, corkscrew and bottle... more
