I spent a relaxing week with my partner in the lovely Barley Store, one of the three cottages at Llanilid. The accommodation itself was perfect for the two of us, well equipped and in a beautiful location. The owners were welcoming, advising us on the local area and were more than willing for us to explore the organic farm, which had wonderful views of the Brecon Beacons. The area was fantastic for cycling, walking and fishing and we made good use of the storage room adjacent to the cottage for our muddy bikes and boots on our return. In the evening we discovered fantastic traditional pubs serving great food, all close by. And well within half an hour's drive we found first class restaurants, perfect for special occasions. This was an ideal antidote to the stresses of city life and we hope to return with friends to one of the 4bed cottages in the future. more
