We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! The breakfast was very nice - not an expansive choice but plenty of options. The dinner was excellent and not too pricey (we paid £25 each for a Christmassy three course meal incl. coffee and mince pies). The hotel itself is lovely, with great views and nice gardens. The room... more

Beautiful hotel, lots of staff and lovely grounds but I recently treated my elderly parents to 2 nights at here as I thought it would be pure luxury at the very expesive rate I paid, (although I tried to get a bit of a deal the man that answered the phone was quite abrupt and un-bending) but - on arrival,... more

From the moment you see the hotel and its location you know this will be special. There can be few more beautiful locations if you love an ideal rural location with lovely views over the hills and the nearby River Wye. We only stayed for night having explored the museum and cathedral in nearby Brecon (do have cake at the... more

Llangoed Hall could be one of Wales's best hotels. It is in a beautiful building, set in extensive gardens amid the lovely and peaceful Brecon countryside. The rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished and decorated, complemented by a wonderful collection of paintings formed by Sir Bernard Ashley, the late owner. The food features local ingredients and is very well cooked... more

My wife and I stayed two nights at Llangoed Hall for the wedding of our son. We have nothing but praise for the quality of the rooms , the attention to detail on the wedding day and the friendly but inobtrusive staff. All in all a wonderful experience. more

We treated ourselves to a joint 40th birthday getaway, leaving kids with inlaws. Found this lavish country house linked to the Laura Ashley family, they produce Elanbach fabrics in the grounds. Spectacular setting with gorgeous misty sunrise views towards Black Mountains from our window. Luxury bathroom and trimmings (although quite small bath). Staff were either local or east european, helpful... more

Llangoed Hall is a 'home from home' and as such it is the owners policy that guests relax and unwind in 'his home', therefore it is the policy that staff remain discreet and in the background and allow the guest to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that Llangoed Hall has to offer.

My husband and I stayed for a night at Llangoed Hall at the end of October. The room we had was ok- but there were a number of issues which we had to point out to the manger- which taking into account the price of the room should certainly not have arisen.--The carpet was badly in need of cleaning as... more

The complaints of this traveller were reported to me via a letter a couple of days after they had left. Upon invesetigating, a bulb was indeed missing from the lamp and has been replaced. It is no longer the policy to leave home baked biscuits in the room prior to a guest arriving unless ordered prior to arrival. The biscuits...
