As we were in the area, and we'd seen it on Hotel Inspector, we thought we'd go and check out the Castle of Brecon. We went at midday to just go and have a drink. There was a civil ceromony being held that day, but the receptionist was friendly and said for us to go through to the bar. Bar... More

My partner and I stayed her on 30th December and New Year's Eve as we were attending a wedding at a nearby hotel. On Arrival the reception staff were friendly and all our details were on the desk ready. We were directed to our room which was very clean and comfortable. The building is clearly very old and so had... More

We had our wedding here on July 29th 2011 and it was all absolutely perfect! I have to personally thank Sam, the assistant manager & wedding coordinator, from start to finish Sam was absolutely wonderful. We booked our wedding 2 years in advance and from the moment we booked it felt like we had her undivided attention. The food was... More

My room was the 'notorious' room 18 of Hotel Inspector fame, which was quite acceptable and stylish, if not finished to a very high standard. Colleauges I stayed with however had less luck with shabby rooms with faulty showers. The fire alarm woke us up during the night which set me up for the breakfast experience: poorly cooked and cheap... More

I recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at this delightful hotel and would definitely recommend it to fellow travellers. The service was friendly and efficient, the rooms were very small but warm and cosy, nicely decorated, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bedroooms all seem to have slanting floors which is characteristic of the age of the... More

We arrived a little early, but our room was ready so we were checked in - very efficient and friendly. We knew in advance that the hotel had a wedding that weekend, but it didn't really affect us at all. We stayed in room 1 in the annex which was a lovely twin room - very clean and tidy with... More

NIce old hotel, room was ok, nice but a bit small. The hot water took quite a while to heat up and the shower had two plastic things jutting out from the wall, which could be a bit dangerous. Great bar, good views and right in the centre of town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Take a walk up... More

Stayed for one night only in the self contained annex. Excellent layout with comfortable beds. Wonderful food at the hotel, although check in leaves a lot to be desired, given the wrong key to our room! No apology - too busy talking to colleagues. Accommodation could also do with a good dust (check beams for cobwebs!) Would not put me... More

My wife and I stayed one night early Oct, during the heat wave....... Just showing up we secured a ground floor room, just off the main building.............. very nice, big bed and quiet, cheaper than in the main hotel.... The included WIFI did not work in this room. Had a few in the bar and on the terrace overlooking the... More

Dear Sir Thank you for your kind comments about our hotel. But I must correct a couple of the issues that you posted. We do not boast on our menu "award winning master chef" We serve our Greek salad with lettuce which is clearly stated on our menu. We do offer free WI-FI in some of our bedrooms and public... More
