A stunning find in Brecon. The rooms are superb and way above anything you expect to find in a small b&b. The owners used to run a bigger hotel and it shows that they know exactly how to provide excellent service and comfort. A great base for the walks in the Brecon Beacons. more

We stayed here in August and had a lovely time. Peter and Barbara go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome. They accomodated all our special needs and we couldn't fault anything, it's a lovely place to stay. more

Was looking for somewhere to stay in Brecon as a base for walking, biking and riding in the national park and celebrating a 60th birthday. Having emailed a number of hotels/B&B's in the area without doubt the Canal Bank was first choice and we weren’t disappointed. From first contact Peter and Barbara were excellent hosts and made sure our stay... more

We stayed at the Canal Bank in early August. Was a little hard to locate at night and in the rain but we were very pleased. Owner had in laws over for a significant anniversary (60th wedding?) and were extremely nice. Food at this B&B was outstanding. They had recommended a list of restaurants; we ate at Roberto's and it... more

What can you say about this place except WOW! The rooms are perfectly presented, comfy, tidy, well appointed and the bathrooms are lovely! But the best part are Peter and Barbara. They are by far the most inviting and welcoming couple running a B&B anywhere. They always want to help if needed, but don't interfere or fuss - which is... more

Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and top class bed, plenty of storage space and nice bathroom. Warm and friendly atmosphere and Peter is an excellent host. The breakfasts are first class with a great choice. We would recommend asking for a room overlooking the rear (which is a must better view )- not over the canal. If you follow... more

Having been let down by a rival B&B establishment (they lost our booking), we called Canal Bank on the off chance they could offer us a room. Luckily for us Canal Bank had had a cancellation earlier that day so they were able to squeeze us in. We were very glad they did! The rooms are furnished to a very... more

Canal Bank is set in a lovely tranquil setting, a few passing walkers on the Towpath, but nothing to disturb you. A very easy walk into the town. Room well appointed. First-rate breakfasts, ordered at the table with some unusal combinations. Peter is helpful with suggested walks and places to eat. Do try The White Swan at Llanfrynach. Canel Bank... more

This was not the first time that we had stayed at Canal Bank House but for consistency and quality of small B&B provision I think it would be hard to beat anywhere. Barbara and Peter welcomed us back to their B&B as 'friends' and, our guest room, overlooking the Taff Trail and canal bank was as immaculate as it was... more

I am such a fussy traveller I wouldn't wish me on anyone however Peter and Barbara met every expectation and indeed, exceeded my hopes on every level. After a warm welcome we were shown to our room wherein we found a meticulous attention to detail and the highest quality furnishings notwithstanding the breathtaking view from the window. Our hosts graciously... more
