I booked a standard room. It was very comfortable and new!! big comfortable bed, with plenty of pillows and ood quality linen. We travelled by car - on arrival, we first could not find the hotel car park, which seems to be full at all times, and there is no space to park up and off load luggage (or to nip in to ask where the '£8 a day nearby NCP' mentioned on the hotel website is), so we ended up parking... more

On walking into Radisson Blu (essentially Radisson's 'budget' brand), the first impression isn't overwhelmingly positive. The reception area feels cramped and poorly laid out, and having to sit down to deal with a receptionist is disconcerting - like you've been sent to the headmaster or something. Stopped one night while in the local area on business with a colleague. Managed to park in the very small underground carpark, but had to pay £12 for the privilige. Great location opposite new John Lewis store and across street from Cardif Indoor Arena. However, it would appear, almost impossible to get aspace in hotel car park, so had to drag luggage from NCP at other end of street. I stayed here for just one night - arriving late afternoon on a Friday and leaving sharpish on the Saturday....so only a brief glimpse really. I was really, really fortunate that somebody was leaving the carpark as I was arriving so I was able to park in the ridiculously small underhotel car park.
