We stayed here for Heineken Cup Final '06 (3 lads) and we didn't have a choice, everywhere was booked out. Once we saw the sign for 'sorry for any inconvenience caused due to re-decoration' and not a paint brush in sight! our suspicions started. Negatives: I'm afraid there are a lot. This place needs to be 'gutted out' and start again, it's that old. Its just old tacky out of date decor, that needs to be replaced. Hall does smell of chip fat and the stairs are bad. Stayed in a single room, the bed was clean, the towels were fresh, the tiny toilet and shower was clean, but how clean can you get a 20 year old toilet! The walls had damp stains, the veneer was chipped off any furniture that was there, the off-white gloss paint on the windows was blistering or chipped off. Thank god my girlfriend wasn't with me, she wouldn't have stayed, so don't bring your partner there!
