We were looking for a room in a small village outside Cardiff and the Hollybush fit the bill. However, the room we had, directly adjacent to the pub, was not great. We went here for an evening meal after judging a book by its cover by thinking it looked like a lovely country pub which boasted home cooked food. We stayed here with our 2 kids for one night. Couldn't fault it really. Room spotless, good size en suite bathroom, comfy beds, v friendly welcome, kids ok in pub, food wholesome & plentiful, good selection of draught beers. Village v quiet. This place is ideal if you have to go into Cardiff but want to avoid a busy city.... more
