We enjoyed a homely, warm, friendly atmosphere when we stayed at the Charlemont Arms Hotel last weekend. It was our anniversary and we have beautiful meal in downstairs at turners, which is in the basement under the bar. It was delightful and our little waitress, looked after us well without being to pushy. We then went to Turners Bar afterwards... more

We recently stayed at the Charlemont Arms Hotel for the Ronan Keating Concert in the Palace Demesne. Armagh and our whole experience was wonderful, plus Ronan was fab too. We arrived early on Friday and we were promptly checked in by a lovely lady called Eleanor, she went beyond the call of duty, as check in wasn't until 2pm. She... more

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights at the end of Aug/beginning of September. When I checked in, no credit or debit card was asked for, I did think this was odd at the time but thought no ore of it. I stayed for 2 nights. The room was fine and clean. I had to check out early on... more

Myself and my girlfriend recently stated here for one night. Check in was no problem, the lady there was short but i wouldn't have said unfriendly. Indifferent I suppose would cover it. The room was big, but when we got there it was a little cold. The room info said the thermostat could be adjusted. I adjusted it and we... more

Very good value. The service is friendly, honest and helpful. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for the money and very clean. Hotel is in the centre of town so you must expect a level of traffic noise but the levels are not overpowering. The whole building has lots of character and is long established. Easily located. This is not hotel... more

I recently stayed in this hotel and was shocked at how rude the staff were. In the bedroom there was the usual guest information, it said you could have a continental breakfast served to your room on request. on my way in on my first night I asked the lady at reception if I could order breakfast "we don't do... more

We spent one night here as our friends were getting married in the nearby Cathedral. Most of the wedding party stayed at the slicker Armagh City Hotel but we preferred the charming look of the Charlemont Arms. We were delighted with the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was exactly what we had hoped for from a b&b... more

This is a town centre hotel situated on a busy main road, forming part of an inner ring for the city of Armagh. The rooms are single-glazed and hence can be noisy. There are bars and function rooms which do not make for quiet! It is on the edge of a rather seedy district, but handy for all Armagh's places... more

Two nights at the Charlemont Arms in August was probably enough. The rooms were very comfortable, the bathrooms great. We were a little taken aback at not finding a hairdryer in the room. Foodwise, the breakfast was ok although being served with heated rye bread when "wholemeal" was asked for left us bewildered! On the recommendation of staff, we ate... more

This hotel had really lovely rooms. The bathrooms were amazing in our two twin rooms! And the bed was the most comfortable I've had at a hotel EVER! We also had a very tasty meal in the hotel's restaurant. (Normally we wouldn't chose to eat in the hotel restaurant just on principle to get out & about, but it is... more
