The Northern Ireland 2006 B&Bs and Guest Houses guide description of this B&B includes the words "Award Winning". I'm not sure when and on what basis an award was granted to this place but our experience was anything but award winning.

After checking into the B&B and paying we noticed that the room was quite dirty. By dirty, I mean that the toilet bowl did not appear to have been cleaned for some time. There were hairs in around the sink and in the shower stall. The linens were stained and tired and the carpet needed to be hoovered. There was also a thick layer of dust throughout the room.

We got the distinct impression that the room had not been used for a significant period of time and that it was not cleaned properly after the previous guest.

When I sheepishly asked the female owner if the room had indeed been properly cleaned after the last guest, her reply was "Well I'm afraid you're going to have to leave". I apologized... more
