The best way to describe Steve's backpackers in Derry/Londonderry probably is: student's dorm meets toursit hotel. It features laid back atmosphere and fair prices on the one hand and excellent service and tourist information by the dedicated Steve himself on the other.
As in any student's dorm it can be rather messy at Steve's although the kitchen and bathrooms are clean enough. However, if you abslutely need them to be spotless, change your plans. The rooms are basic, but sufficient and you won't be sharing with more then two or three others.
As an extra you can sign up for the nightly barbie. For just a few pounds you get to aet as much as you possiblu could and it's an outstanding opportunity to get to know more about fellow-guests, Steve and everything there is to know about(London)Derry and it's history, depicted in dozens of impressive murals.
