Stayed here for wedding night; Sir William Room utterly perfect. Complete peace, massive room, collosal bed (not the usual large sleigh bed but probably 8ft by 10ft!) and gorgeous breakfast of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, oatcakes etc etc. When you need to know your special night away is not going to dissapoint, this is the place. more

We have stayed at Ballochneck twice now, but plan on visiting on many more occasions. Ballochneck is a huge, beautiful house on its own estate, about 25 mins drive from Glasgow and 10mins to Loch Lomond. Superb. Given the choice between two weeks in St Lucia and one night at Ballochneck, I would choose Ballochneck every time. You could not hope for a more friendly welcome - roaring fires in every room and a glass of whisky from Donnie (never without a rip-roaring yarn of derring-do) - soon makes you feel like one of the family.... more
