I had my wedding at the hotel and it was an amazing experience. The staff is attentive and courteous. The service is prompt and unintrusive. The food was delicious and well sized protions. There is only one wedding per day so you can enjoy all the surroundings. The views to the river and the old cemetery are a trademark. Then... more

We booked a 2 night, weekend 'Romantic Break'. The package gave us a suite (King sized bed and a comfy sofa overlooking the River Dee), champagne, flowers and chocolates on arrival and D,B&B for two nights. The dinner was an 8 course gourmet meal and was fantastic on both nights (different menus each night). The service was fantastic, the food... more

Fantastic - I spoke about this hotel for a year and couldn't wait to get to the wedding when I found out it was a 12th Century building . Stayed 3 nights and loved every single minute. Glorious food, room was beautiful, although we didn't get the room we were supposed to have didn't realy matter as I'm sure all... more

We arrived at this hotel on the Saturday afternoon at 2.15 pm and found everything to be perfect. However, by 3pm a wedding party had descended on the hotel and had completely taken over all of the public spaces, including the residents lounge. When we tried to access the residents lounge a senior member of the staff asked to leave... more

After leaving the city of Aberdeen we were surprised to find such a stunning and seculded location. My husband had booked a romantic package to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted at reception by a very helpful lady who informed us we had a free upgrade to a suite, which we were delighted... more

We looked forward to our 4 night stay while visiting our friends in Aberdeen. Arrived on a Sunday night to not such good news - a leek in the roof and no hot water in our room that night. This was overcome very well by the hotel - a key to another room to use the shower and a half... more

We came here in Dec. Rooms were a little cold but this made sitting in front of the log burning fire even nicer . The Ha Hoose (residents lounge) is so gorgeous. I can't even describe it, it has to be seen. Perfect if you’re looking for an oldie worldie Scottish hotel. We've booked our wedding here we fell in... more

My partner and i went to this hotel for 2 nights (celebration package) for a romantic secluded getaway. On arrival were greeted by extremely friendly staff who told us about the history of the hotel (very interesting), we were shown to our room which was a deluxe room on the ground floor - can definately recommend this one as gorgeous... more

It was very cold when I arrived at this old place so it was nice to get inside and check in and the lady on reception was most helpful. Typical old Scottish hotel but I was slightly concerned when she told me to leave my pass card in the slot in the room so that my heater would stay on... more

I've just returned from a wedding at the hotel which was really fantasic. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food at the reception was really great, didn't taste mass catered at all, so I can only imagine the food in the restaurant is good too. The buffet breakfast was of a reasonable... more
