had a great stay.....the reception area was beautiful, the food was excellent and the breakfast was very good and we had a fry up. Service was with a smile and if i was going back to aberdeen i'd look to stay here for convenience and price. the rooms were very big with high ceilings but a bit old fashioned when... more

I stayed two nights in a single room at the Carmelite in May 2009. It's obviously an old building and some of the floors slope alarmingly, but the room itself was very nice, recently refurbished in simple, modern style, good comfy bed and with a lovely shiny new bathroom. A small room (if you're planning to swing a cat, maybe... more

I'm a bit surprised ny the poor reviews here. Mind you, my company paid for the hotel so I'm not sure if it represents good value. It's on a not so nice street but the main foyer is ptretty well done out in the boutique style. Check in was quick and easy. I suppose the bedroom was a little dissapointing.... more

Foyer very nice, staff too. Really enjoyed breakfast. Room !! Shabby..not as in chic. Just shabby. My internal alarm bells starting ringing when going along the corridor to the room. Uneven floor boards mean you kind of go up hill or down hill. For example our shower cubicle was down hill from say the wash hand basin. Don't stay if... more

I have clients staying at this hotel who have mixed comments. Offered a discounted room for ~£45.00 per night b&b, which is considerably lower than the normal rate. This is still too high for the quality and service. Room and carpets are filthy. Floor is so uneven you can feel the slope when laying in bed....... Clothes storage is so... more

We were staying in recently refurbished suite which was not cheap, it was nicely decorated but had a damp smell, there is no tea or coffee facilities and no room service available, we requested our breakfast to be delivered to our room but was advised this was not available, there is no corresopondance in your room to advice what services... more

I booked this hotel and then decided to read some online reveiws, i was dreading going after reading that the rooms where horrible and the corridors smelt. However after the shock of the outside (which is not very nice, its down a wee street and does not look very appeling) the inside was a delight it was beautifully decorated and... more

I was in Aberdeen on business with my wife and was very impressed with the welcoming open plan foyer/lounge/bar/restaurant area that greeted us on arrival. We were also extremely pleased to find we'd been booked into the Cabanel Suite. We opened our door and climbed a flight of stairs to find a huge room that looked extremely comfortable and stylish.... more

Lovely website. Nice entrance. Very shabby room. The window was cracked, the furniture stained, the TV tiny. I wouldn't have minded so much if they hadn't displayed an award certificate for best refurbished rooms by the lift. Who awarded this? The staff were nice though, the room was clean & it was central. more
