Having stayed at many guest houses and hotels in the Aberdeen area this has got to be the worst ever. As you can see from the photo's the room was extremely dirty with knuckle marks to the walls, the milldew in the bathroom had to be seen to be believed. We stayed in the Clubhouse on recommendation of a friend who lives nearby and believe it to be value for money. My one comment would be that the rooms could do with having a mirror in them in order to see when you're drying your hair. I don't understand the previous review - I had a very enjoyable stay and particularly enjoyed the food. The rooms are clean and the hotel is located very centrally. more
Avoid the Clubhouse Hotel! We have great luck with the recommendations of Rick Stieves but he is way off base with this one. The mattresses must have been 10 years old, the breakfast staff was rarely seen, and they would not honor the Rick Stieves discount. Just up the road is the Hotel Kilkenny...a bit more money...but a really nice... more
Dear Sir, Regarding your comments on The Clubhouse Hoel, you have stated Aberdeen as the town, however, I cannot trace a Kilkenny Hotel in Aberdeen and neither have we heard of Rick Stieves discount system. We did not recieve any complaint at the hotel. Please respond soonest to clarify, if this is the correct Clubhouse Hotel.
