We stayed at the Merkland Guest House whilst visiting my daughter who is at Aberdeen University. We had difficulty getting accommodation as I had to book at short notice I was a little concerned that it was only a 2 * rating but I need not have worried. Stayed at the Merkland several times when visiting family in the area. Used to live in Aberdeen so know the area and can honestly say that this is a comfortable home-from-home run by lovely people. Just back from the Merkland House b and b where we paid £44 for a double room for one night. Very reasonable as the hotels were very expensive owing to the fact that mon-wed are their most expensive rates (think it's got to do with the oil riggers staying then). Very friendly people. Nice decor in dining room and hallways.... more
It was our first trip to Aberdeen, me and my wife were there for 6 days, I was having a conference and our stay became very nice with being in such a nice B & B. The room was very nice and the owners were very very good, friendly and cooeparative to us. If we ever get chance to visit... more
