I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip as unfortunately everywhere else was full. The room was small and cramped with to much furniture, dirty carpets and NO HEATING. My room overlooked the harbour so I had the noise of the boats generators all night to accompany to force 10 gale blowing in the window. On asking the receptionist... more

We don't often get an opportunity to escape from our kids so we were looking for something more special than an economy hotel room. We found it here. Fantastic hotel. The room was superb, new, clean, trendy and the bed comfortable. All the staff were great, helpful and very friendly. The hotel is handy for all the shops anyone could... more

On a recent trip to Scotland we spent one night at the Soprano St. Magnus. The location is perfect, right downtown close to everything, but still very quiet. Plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. No parking is available so it's either metered street parking or a car park during the day. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The staff... more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and it has clearly been refurbished throughout . Our room overlooked the harbour and was really lovely. The wine bar and bistro is amazing , we loved it. The staff here are really friendly and they went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Thank you... more

I missed the bit on the website where it says that the hotel is right by the train station. The area of the central station in European cities tends to be seedy, so had I noticed, I never would have booked the room. In Aberdeen, this appears to be the red light district. The website looks much more glamorous and... more

Me and my partner stayed in this hotel just one night while we went to see the aberdeen x factor live tour. When we arraived there was building work going on which was noisy but not that bad. We are students so unclean rooms and mess and noise are normal for us! However after the show we arrived bacxk at... more

The hotel itself is very nice. I think it is still being modified, but still very nice. however the TV in our room wasnt working. This I found out was an ongoing problem yet we hadnt been told at check in. When you arrive you are given a voucher for 2 free glasses of wine if you have a meal... more

£95 for an executive room which you could just squeeze around the bed. You couldn't sit at the table provided due to the lack of space. Per square foot the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed in. Rooms furnished well but the walls needed painting, carpet was filthy, tiling in bathroon had huge cracks in them. Look like the... more

We travel quite a bit throughout Europe and are familiar with standards at many other facilities of similar ages. Our rating of our St Magnus Court experience took this into account. The building now occupied by the Soprano Hotels St Magnus Court was apparently built in 1870, and naturally, a newer facility would require additional considerations. That being said, we... more

We were in room 14 on the first level. Not sure if this room was renovated, but I'm pretty sure it was not. Still, it was not bad. The windows were incredible. The room was on a corner and the two windows were huge. Long striped drapes give it a semi-elegant European feel, though the room was a bit shabby,... more
