My husband and I spent the night here as we were going to a wedding nearby. Although, at £75 B&B, it wasn't overly expensive, the standards were well below an acceptable level. The place doesn't appear to have been decorated since the Bay City Rollers were in the charts, and I have some doubts about how long it is since... more

The Royal Hotel, Forfar. We had a family meal at this hotel last week and the food in general was disappointing. Most dishes were deep fried and had been over cooked. The staff were okay but could have been better trained, as when they came to take the food order they didn't ask if we wanted wine and then they... more

My wife and I booked a room for one night on line based upon the web page. The advertising is very misleading, our room wes terrible, old, dirty, and should be condemned, the chair by the bed was discusting, the bed was old and the springs were protruding. The en-suite was a joke like a tiny cupboard with a door... more

Luckily we sorted out the room arrangements between ourselves - the management offered each room a bottle of champagne for gesture of goodwill. Staff were very helpful... more

To say this is the worse hotel i have ever stayed in is an understatement. i knew i should have smelt a rat when my company arranged a rate of 20 pounds per night, and i begrudged paying that much . Food was poor, rooms were very below standard, bathroom was dirty, dated and the shower was a drizzle of... more

This hotel is not up to the usual standards of Swallow hotels, it's potential is great - swimming pool, roof top sitting area and gym. We had to keep checking we were in a Swallow hotel as the decor was very dated, although you could not fault the bedlinen and towels. The price was terrific and despite the lack of... more
