Stayed for B+B at the hotel. Modern rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was fine. Didn't have an evening meal but the menu looked fine. Like many hotels, a wee bit overpriced- hotels generally need to get the message that they need to do more in the current recession to attract custom- price reduction would... more

This was a lovely hotel made all the better by the staff and their attention to detail. From Gail on reception who has a lovely warm welcoming personality to the housekeeping staff who acknowledged us in the corridor. I am just sorry we only stayed one night. We had dinner and cannot speak highly enough of it, the food was... more

Stayed for 4 nights from 2nd September, 2007. Great room in old part of hotel, large and comfortable with view of links. Very clean with nice bathroom. Breakfasts fine with the smoked haddock recommended (by my wife). Had the carvery Sunday night. Not cheap at nearly £19 but good value for 4 courses with a huge portion of meat with... more

Our room was in the new part of the hotel and was fairly large and well laid out if a bit plain. It was however very... more

From the moment you walk into the hotel you are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Booking in was simple and the receptionist laughed and joked with us about various things. The rooms are very clean, and the pillows on the bed were thick not like the wafer thin ones at other hotels. You must try the Carvery on... more

We just could not fault this hotel. The room was extremely large and looked liked it had been newly refurbished with wooden flooring and clean lines. There was also a large balcony. The bathroom was large and extremely clean. All areas were beautifully maintained. The food was superb both for breakfast and the evening meal. I ordered smoked haddock and... more

You expect a reasonable standard from a Best Western Hotel however, the noise from the dance hall directly below the bedroom was so loud that the fabric of the building shook. We had intended staying for two nights but the second night was so unbearable that we checked out and drove 2 hours back to Edinburgh arriving just after midnight.... more
