This hotel must have one of the most beautiful locations in the area. This was our second trip there, for three nights. The rooms are comfortable and front-facing ones have marvellous outlook. There are lovely walks in the area too. Downside was definitely dinner. Breakfasts were good, we found the food in the evening very disappointing, the fish was invariably... more

Situated in an amazing part of Scotland, the Pierhouse is right next to the pier for the boat to Lismore. They also hire out bikes and cycling the length of Lismore is an easy day trip. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The food in the restaurant was good and the bar also did snacks. Airds Hotel is... more

Four years ago we stayed in a hotel on the West Coast of Scotland for the first time, it was near Ballachulish, whilst there we travelled out on the beautiful Road to the Isles out to Mallaig and also traversed the remote Moidart and Ardnamurchan peninsular, and circumvented rugged Glencoe and Loch Leven. On our way home we travelled down... more

A lovely little hotel which I discovered by accident, slightly off the beaten track, but a great location as a base to discover the west coast. Located on the beautiful shores of Loch Linnhe by the ferry pier to Lismore Island in Port Appin, this hotel boasts being famous for great seafood and it doesn't disappoint. Our meal in the... more

Stopped over on a tourimg holiday of Scotland. A beautifully secluded hotel away from the usual tourist trapps. Beautiful views of Lismore Island from the terrace. I disagree with the american complaints of bad parking, it's called rural Scotland and really wasn't a problem. Dinner was beautiful, wonderful Inverawe smoked salmon was so good I had it for breakfast with... more

Very friendly reception - dog made welcome - stunning views and areas to sit on lawn outside and in patio area. Would have been better value to have had a bar meal - looked very good - but had already booked a table in the restaurant - the meals of steak and tiger prawns were overpriced for what we received.... more

Found staff most un helpful and the barman was deaf and miserable !! Food in... more

Absolutely beautiful, quaint, comfortable hotel. The only problem was that they don't have a dedicated person for the reception desk but the other workers in the bar and restaurant are willing to help out. We also didn't know about the Bed and Breakfast and Dinner option that we had signed up for but they were helpful in reconsiling our bill.... more

I stayed at The Pierhouse hotel for one night as part of a touring holiday in Scotland. The hotel is cozy and charming, and I was impressed with the service. Some reviews talk of expensive rooms and expensive food. I would agree, though the food I had was excellent (I stayed clear of the £65 seafood platter which would have... more
