We undertook a driving holiday, mainly of Scotland, from Heathrow airport, where we landed and hired a car, up as far north as the Orkney Islands and back again. We stayed primarily at bed & breakfasts found over the internet, checked out via Tripadvisor where possible. We found Fiona’s personality shone through on her website, and this attracted us to... more

The service was excellent; we were warmly welcomed by Fee who offered tea and home baking. Our room was decorated and accessorised to reflect its 16th century origins and well-appointed, with: tea/coffee making facilities; hair dryer; fresh towels and toiletries; digital freeview and a welcome folder giving lots of information about the house and the local attractions. Our breakfast in... more

Our extended family stayed in all three rooms of this authentic historic house while on a visit to the Loch Fyne area for a MacLachlan clan gathering. We all loved our rooms which were decorated with charm and antiques. We loved the four poster bedroom which was our favorite room on our nearly three week trip. The stairs to the... more

Stayed 1 night single occupancy of twin room for £40 B&B. I had attic Hobbit room which was a bit over the top with the theme & a bit dull with dark blue walls but OK. Room has all you need - TV, tea/coffee, ensuite shower etc. Clean enough. Had open fireplace & short chimney so only a few feet... more

Went for a walk and was accompanied by two lovely friendly sheep dogs from the house. Breakfast was very good . Only stayed one night but would... more

We arrived to a warm welcome from Fiona and family (and 2 lovely, gentle dogs). The room was immaculate, and the views over countryside on either side made it worth the climb to the third floor. The only sounds were those of the wildlife and domestic animals, which added to the "country" feel. Located about 4 miles of easy driving... more

Now that we travel with kids, I like to book all lodging in advance. For some reason, finding somewhere near Inveraray on the night we needed was a bit of a challenge. I sent email inquiries to many places but only a few bothered to responded. Fiona was quick to respond and her blog and website were interesting so we... more

This B&B is a little gem. We have been frequent regular guests there now for several years and feel very at home but can still remember the first time we stayed. The four poster room was a particular pleasure then and now. Big plus points; The plumbing all works, the water is always hot, the showers are plenty big enough... more

A wonderful B&B! We stayed in the four-poster room and it is one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in. (Especially for the reasonable price!) It has lots of character, is very spacious and has lovely extras like DVD player with library. Hosts are very friendly. Good breakfast. Fabulous setting (a little way out of the town.)... more
