Just returned from one of many stays at the Palace Hotel. We haven't been there for two years but Ann and her staff made us feel like old friends. Our room had recently been refurbished and was really sparkling and fresh. The views are exceptional and the breakfasts absolutely brilliant, certainly enough to set you up for the day!!! more

It's aged but comforatable and if you love pink (carpet, chairs, duvet, wallpaper, curtains, towells) you'd be in 7th heaven. For £60 it was ok but the breakfast was terrible. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I cannot begin to think how the owners can justify the rates they charge. The double room was tiny and packed with furniture so that you couldn't move around.The furniture itself had seen considerably better days. This hotel is in a fantastic location. We had a front room with views over the bay which were excellent, although there was no car park (as hotel located on main st) we managed to park the car a short walk away. I stayed on the top floor, which if you can cope with the stairs, provides fantastic views across the harbour.
