This hostel is terrible. We are not very demanding people and can sleep in places which are quite basic. We had planned to stay two nights in the Inglis Hotel using Oban as a starting point for some day journeys. We finally left as quick as possible disgusted. I read the mixed reviews on Jeremy Inglis Hostel before staying there with 3 friends in early Sept 2009 and was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The owner was nice enough, but the cleaniness was a bit too be desired! I don't think I'm that picky and like a place that has character and don't even mind a bit of clutter, but I can do without green mold in the bathroom and carpets that look like they haven't been hoovered in quite some time. I spent 2 nites in this hostel back in 2004. It was nice, actually! The room was rather simple but ok (and quite low priced). Jeremy was friendly. We loved the Jeremy Inglis Hostel. Very well located but a bit hard to find due to its inconspicuous exterior. The hostel is slightly dated but extremely clean and comfortable with a cosy, welcoming feel. It has great character and charm and we would recommend it to anyone. more
