We stayed here at the start of a long journey in Scotland. You can not fault the place, friendly, well appointed, attention to detail, value for money. ....& a great breakfast. Yep there is the issue of the long flight of steps up to the place but as long as you are aware it is no big deal more

Julie and Bob were our hosts at the Briarbank. You should be aware that there is a steep climb from the road to the B&B, so you'll be taking your luggage up some stairs to get there. Hit Oban during particularily bad weather, the sun room at the back was a nice place to watch and listen to the rain. Have stayed in 100's of B&B and Briarbank is definitely in the top 5%. Despite advisories about steps (there are some) we (mid 60's couple, not exceptionally fit) had no problem walking (with backpacks) from the train... more

My wife and I plus Tom our doggy needed to recharge our batteries.....and Briarbank guest house was the place to do it,,,,,,,hosts Julie and Bob look after everything, to the smallest detail......the room we stayed in was excellent , the MacDonald suite....whiskey was served in our room every evening plus dog treats, great breakfasts. Simply excellent in every respect. Beautiful bedrooms with four poster beds. Loads of little extras that make the stay that little bit better. We, a group of six friends stayed at Brairbank as part of walking holiday en route to Mull, and we all agreed it was one the best B & B`s ever. Every attension to detail is there right down to robes and the single Malt we only touched the area including a very wet walk on Kererra, stil thoroughly enjoyable.... more
