Stayed here for a few days end of October 2010 , room lovely and clean, shower room spotless, we had a sea view and although it was cold outside the hotel was lovely and snug , friendly hosts, great breakfast espcially the delicious black pudding, even took two home, it was my first visit to Scotland and I would certainly... Well, when we arrived inside, I have to be honest, we all looked at one another and thought we had made a mistake! The property is at the top of a hill above the town with parking at the back so it is unsuitable for invalids/wheelchairs unless you have a car to get down to the town. Once inside the... More

We stayed at the Roseneath for two nights in August, and I wish we hadn't. Upon arriving, a young man (who apparently couldn't get back quickly enough to what he was doing before we interrupted him) opened the door and showed us to our room. He wasn't able to give any recommendations for dinner, so we didn't bother asking him... More

My hubby and I just had a two night stay at Roseneath and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Oban for a short break. We had a lovely room at the top of the house with stunning views across the bay. There is parking to the rear which is a bit of a bonus for the area too. The... More

Stayed at Roseneath for two nights, using it as a base to explore Mull and Iona. Roseneath is a granite built traditional Victorian villa situated in a picturesque location overlooking Oban town and harbour, which is about five minutes walk down a relatively steep hill. Roseneath provides private parking at rear of house, in a small town where parking is... More

By far the worst b and b we have stayed in on our tour of Scotland. Trusted the reviews on here but found the room tired looking, shower pathetic, unable to actually wash my hair as the trickle of water not strong enough.Breakfast sounded great with pleanty of choice but all cheap tasteless produce on offer, backpacker hostel style- pre-packed... A comfortable place to stay - the landlady, Sarah, was great fun and knew all there was to know about Oban. We had a room overlooking the sea. The room was very clean and the shower room was small but fine for a short break. The trip to Mull and Iona was beautiful, we were lucky to have sunshine. The... More

It was a little hard to find due to the narrow and one way roads of Oban. But once arriving you meet the owner, who is so nice and welcoming, and she runs it by herself with her son. The view from our room of Oban Bay was amazing. Breakfast was delicious. Location was excellent to all the wonderful shops... More
