My wife and I stayed in the best room with the four poster bed and amazing views over Oban bay. The owners of the hotel were friendly and helpful. The fried breakfast was excellent. I can't recommend this guest house enough as everything was perfect and excellent value for money. more

We stayed at Hawthornbank GH for three days en route to Mull and were sad to move on. We could not fault it in any way. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, lovely view, convenient location - short interesting walk into town centre - parking, great breakfast with wide choice, owners friendly and helpful. We received a lovely welcome from the owners. We had two rooms during our stay - both were nice but the second was particularly good - had a great view over the bay. Very useful being able to park on site. Had the little luxuries you often don't find in B&Bs. The owners dog was the source of much amusement.... more
