The Townhead of Cavers B&B offers 2 very nice rooms in a converted coach house of a once huge and historic estate. The hosts were extremly welcoming and helpful, and worked with us to plan a great tour route around the Border's area. They serve an excellent full scottish breakfast; made to order. The owners even offer accomodations for horses, and are on the route of Hawick's "Common Riding" event. The B&B is located a couple miles outside the town of Hawick, Scotland, and the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful.

The nearby towns abound with castles and abbeys; many of them are within 30 minutes away. The Townhead of Cavers is only about 55 miles from Edinburgh, so it is an easy drive to see the castles and museums there, as well as other historic sites in the area.

I would recommend this B&B for those who want to escape the hustle bustle of the city, relax in a country atmosphere, and be within an hour and a half... more
