We spent a night at Burts Hotel on the way down to Weardale from the highlands and quite enjoyed the stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room large and comfortable. Dinner in the bar was quite good with good service. Melrose itself was quite a lovely spot. more

Burts Hotel in Melrose is a bit of a puzzle, the food is fantastic, out of this world, some of the staff have obviously not been trained on this world!
