I recently took my partner to the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel for a weekend away. We now live in Australia but were in Scotland visiting family. The location is unbeatable, the deluxe rooms with four poster beds are lovely. pokey bathrooms, ours with chipped bathtub and mildew in the grouting of the tiles! Breakfast took forever, I think they must be understaffed (45 minutes to arrive in the diningroom.) Staff just the right side of surly. We stayed at this overpriced 4 star hotel. the servbice was not good. The room was greatly in need of refurbishment. Stains on the carpet etc. And as for breakfast it was awful.
