We stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding at the abbey. The wedding venue was gorgeous and I couldnt fault that. The meal in the hotel after the wedding was also good, I am lactose intolerant and this was catered for with no problem. After the wedding it all went down hill! The rooms are very dated and... more

My wife and I have recently returned from a weekend break at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel. The Hotel is situated in the most wonderful location on the banks of River Tweed. The service within the Hotel was excellent and I would like to raise a special thank you to the reception team who were very courteous and looked after all... more

This hotel is in a fantastic location, which is unspoiled and very romantic. My husband and i went for three days and i would have loved to stay longer. Our room looked over the Tweed river, which is very calming and beautiful. The food was also to die for and the experience of the eight course dinning was brilliant. The... more

I recently took my partner to the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel for a weekend away. We now live in Australia but were in Scotland visiting family. We arrived at the hotel quite late and were welcomed by the receptionist. Check in went smoothly enough and we had a drink at the bar. Quiet, relaxed, not as expensive as we were expecting.... more

The location is unbeatable, the deluxe rooms with four poster beds are lovely. pokey bathrooms, ours with chipped bathtub and mildew in the grouting of the tiles! Breakfast took forever, I think they must be understaffed (45 minutes to arrive in the diningroom.) Staff just the right side of surly. Evening food service is good, nice food, good wine list... more

We stayed at this overpriced 4 star hotel. the servbice was not good. The room was greatly in need of refurbishment. Stains on the carpet etc. And as for breakfast it was awful. I have never had stemed sausages in my life and hope never to have them again. There were not enough staff on at breakfast and 2 pats... more

My husband and I recently had a great weekend in the Dryburgh Abbey. This grand hotel in stunning grounds was absolutely faultless. Despite what some reviews on TA say the food in particular was absolutely stand out. Breakfast was really good but the real foodie highlight of our weekend was dinner on the Saturday night. We opted for the Tasting... more

After trying to find somewhere nice in the borders for our wedding anniversary we struggled due it being August and prime holiday season. After coming across Dryburgh, it looked lovely and just what we wanted, we booked and our only reservation was the cost. To be entirely fair to the hotel the rates are not extortionate but similar to all... more

Stayed for one night in july 2009. I went with my now fiancee ( she said yes!). The grounds are wonderful and there is always a good photo to take. The room we had was a four poster bed. Yes the room is old but its what you would expect from a period style hotel, however the level of cleanliness... more
