Need lessons in customer service!!!Booked our fairytale wedding in Castle Venlaw. Hired the whole Castle exclusively for 2 days.Had no assistance from the manager during the planning phase, and refused to have our suggested seating plan for the wedding meal. The manager didnt even turn up during the guest reception buffet on the evening before the wedding. Recieved an email... more

I don't get any of the bad reviews!. We could not fault this hotel or service. Our stay was for our honeymoon, we booked the glenturrent room, which is beautiful and decorated to a high standard. The bed is the most comfortable one we have ever slept in. All the staff were very friendly and polite and made our stay... more

Myself, husband, sister and brother-in -law stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of September. The staff were courteous, discreet and friendly. Our rooms were clean and traditionally decorated. The food was excellent, and our waiters for the stay were very good, just coming back to check that everything was ok,without being overbearing. We booked the Castle Venlaw on the strength of a well-known Sunday Newspaper magazine review and were very very disappointed as this was a very special occasion - our mini-honeymoon. When we arrived and entered into the Four-poster room, our hearts sank, it was very old, carpets dirty and stained, furniture old, it certainly didnt have the wow factor that... more

Just got back from a midweek stay at the Venlaw Castle Hotel after having a delightful time there. The hotel oozes old world charm and hospitality and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Our double room was delightful with a four poster bed and a very swish ensuite bathroom, complete with mini bar! There is a cosy bar to... more

Booked one night at this hotel in a "superior" room, having stayed previously for a weekend two years ago and had a good time. Our room two years ago was also a superior room, however the room we were given was anything but. We had booked a double room but were disappointed to find that we had been given a... more

We booked Castle Venlaw through Late Rooms. Com and thought it was fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful - both the reception and the waiting staff. Meals were absolutely wonderful and the restaurant very romantic (we are both vegetarian and had delicious meals). The waiters / waitresses were very attentive, eg pouring us more water as soon as our... more

We stayed at Castle Venlaw on our way up to Inverness, coming from North Wales with 3 children we wanted to break the journey up. We picked the hotel because we wanted somewhere special to stay and we were encouraged by the good reviews it got. We were not disappointed. We stayed in a family suite the 3 children in... more

Castle Venlaw is in a truly spectacular location. The building itself, from the outside at least, is of fairytale appearance. Although our stay was okay, I have to admitt that I was somewhat disappointed by our room. It certaily lacked character, warmth and appeal. I have spent many nights in nicer, less expensive, accomodation. The provisions on the hospitality tray... more
