We have just returned from a short stay at the Ferintosh Guest House - along with our three dogs. We had chosen Ferintosh initially because it was, indeed, dog-friendly. However, we were delighted to arrive to such a fantastic welcome. Robertson and Emma - Taffee and new arrival Riley - were extremely friendly; the accommodation was first-rate - elegant, charming,... more

Our stay at the Ferintosh Guest house was one I will never forget. The Hosts Robertson and Emma were kind and welcoming not only to us , but to all guests as we observed. Breakfast is hot , fresh, and delicious served with a friendly "Good Morning" and if wanted a little chat. We will be back to Ferintosh again... more

This was one of the best vacations if not the best I have been on. And it was due to Emma and Robertson. Thier kindness, hospitality and generousity is unmatched. If you are considering Dumfries then the Ferintosh Guest House is your home away from home! more

Once again, I went down to Dumfries for a night out with Robertson and Emma and a "rabble" of kilted guys - from such diverse places as Norway, Ireland, USA, Cumbria, and the borders. The hospitality as usual was marvellous, with a snifter of the amber nectar before setting out for a meal at a local restaurant, then around six... more

Friendly, warm and inviting as well as clean from top to bottom. You couldn't ask for more in a B/B. Robertson and Emma are a delight and the town of Dumfries is charming. How could you not like an establishment inwhich the owner greets you while kilted and there is a "wee dram" waiting for you in your room?? We... more

Conveniently located across from the railway station, ample parking close by and a short stroll to the heart of the city. From the warm and friendly welcome by Emma and Robertson to the clean, well-equipped rooms with single malt of the day, showers with excellent water pressure to an outstanding cooked breakfast: simply the best and most pleasing B&B I... more

I had heard of Ferintosh from others who had stayed there and it lived up to our expectations and more. We did not have a car, but the Ferintosh is across the street from the train station. It is also an easy 10 minute walk from downtown and the historic areas of Dumfries. Emma and Robertson were welcoming, gracious, and... more

I've been to Scotland before, but this was my first time to the Dumfries area. We book Ferintosh, and it really made the trip all the more enjoyable. The house is a quaint brick building run by a charming couple that goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Every morning, we were served a proper Scottish... more

We stayed at Ferintosh guest house for 2 nights. The guest house was very clean but did have a quite over powering smell over air freshner in the entrance hall - i think this is because the owners have 2 dogs & it is also dog friendly for guests. It is opposite the train station & only a 5-10 minutes... more

We were greeted by the kilt wearing chef and owner of the property on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Our room was the last double available and had a shared bathroom with the single room next door which was not a problem! I fully enjoyed the hot whiskey free in the room and a very good sleep in... more
