Stayed there to watch some friends go past cycling John O Groats to Lands End. Rooms are clean and a good size. Restaurant is wonderful and staff are friendly and helpful more

79 of us travelled to Gretna from Essex, Daventry and Milton Keynes to attend a wedding at the old blacksmiths in Gretna and the reception was held at the Solway Lodge. Half of the guests stayed at the solway and we apologise to any local residents for taking over your hotel. The reception was fantastic and the food was excellent.... more

We liked the look of this hotel on the internet, and made some enquiries by phone. Liked what we heard and made a booking for both the day and night for our wedding on the 26th April 2008. Our families which totalled 39, 35 of whom stayed in the Solway. Food at both Reception and evening buffet excellent.The restaurant food... more
