The local sea food specials were very good, spicy noodles and swordfish was really tasty. Excellent prawns on skewers with chilli and ginger. The gammon was cooked to perfection. Very nice, well done David Spencer- chef.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel. Clean and comfortable accommodation, excellent breakfast and the meals in the dining room were exceptional. Tower haggis tasty and well presented. Main meals were exceptional, both quality and quantity. Very warm welcome from young couple who have just taken over in the last year. Bar on the small... More

Ate in the restaurant during a week's stay in Kirkcudbright. We had an excellent meal; I struggled to finish mine because the portions were so generous :-) The "haggis tower" is highly recommended as is the Beef Olives. Best meal we've had in Kirkcudbright.

Last minute decision to stay over night in Kirkcudbright and we were lucky enough to stumble upon the Kirkcudbright Bay. Food was first class, room was clean, spacious, nice bathroom and very nice wall mounted wide screen T.V. Fluffy robes and expensive toiletries provided. Excellent value for money, staff all very pleasant - will definitely be returning for a longer... More

There was a nice atmosphere of jovial locals as we entered the bar to ask for a last-minute room. The manager was very helpful, made us feel welcome and asked if we'd like to see the room before deciding. We were shown to a rather grand bedroom on the first floor overlooking the street. It was clean, well equipped with... More

Don't usually write on these sites but really felt I must in this case. We had a first class stay at this hotel and like a previous reviewee we also stayed out late however we asked the owners about getting access late at night and they were more than happy to provide us with a key to the front door.... We were enjoying a drink with some friends at the Kirkudbright Bay when the smell of the food tempted us to ask for the menu. We booked a table and were not disappointed. Good pub food fresh and served with a smile. The Bay provides a good middle of the road price option in the town. Exceeded expectation will return... More

My wife and i had dinner here when we learnt that there were new owners. The food was excellent by any standards, nicely served and plenty of it. This is a much needed unpretentious establishment, with very modest prices. Also it opens for dinner at 5.00p.m. - again much needed in Kirkcudbright. Let's hope that it continues to be so... More

I have never ever been locked out of a hotel until now. Arrived back at 2am on a Saturday night to find the place locked up with no access to our room. Had to spend the night sleeping in our car. The absolute worst end to an otherwise enjoyable stay. If you plan to stay here, make sure you don't... More
