It grieves to say this, but this is the 2nd time we've been here and can honestly say that this is a gem of a place in Dumfries and Galloway, and having spoken to the owner of the site, I adjacent to add was soaked to the skin today and even though the price was £25 per night, we paid £30, therefore you might well ask why my grievance... . Quite simply.....I'm worried that I may not get a space in future due to work commitments and last minute bookings. We tip our hats to the owners of this site. We will most certainly be back. Also lovely walks through the woodland. Mr and Mrs Steven & Tracey Tremble

We visited Solway view a few years ago and we have been looking for an chance to return over the past few years. We have previously used the wigwams, which are fabulous. But this time we brought our campervan. We were given a very generous pitch with room for our car to park next to as well as ample space for our dog to explore. The kids loved the play area and the wide open spaces to race around. The walk to the beach is through a beautiful woodland and well worth the short walk for a quiet and clean beach. The facilities on site are excellent and kept clean and well stocked. We will definitely be returning soon and recommending it to our family and friends.

A lovely campsite clearly run by people who just understand what people need In this sort of location. Everything is efficient in terms of booking, the site is so well run and facilities so clean and yet it’s all lovely and low key and unobtrusive. Very special.

Lovely trip to Kirkcudbright for the first time, beautiful area, wonderful welcome from the campsite. I had actually booked the wrong dates and hadn’t realised until they came to check our name and hooking reference. The gentleman was so kind and told us not to worry, so we managed to carry on setting up our tent! We were really impressed by the campsite. Lovely picnic table at each pitch so we had somewhere to eat our meals. There was also a fire pit for our personal use but we didn’t get a chance to use it on this occasion. We are frequent campers and this is by far one of our favourites! Highly recommend!

We spent 2 great days at this site with fantastic views and great facilities on site. Very clean toilets, huge pitches with a table and bench and fire pit on every pitch. A campers kitchen with cooking facilities. Great walks for the dog with a short walk to a nice private bay.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights on our first ever trip with our Opus trailer tent. The site is in a perfect location with fantastic views. Pitches are large and well maintained with each pitch having its own picnic seating and fire pit overlooking the Firth. Amenities on the site are clean and well maintained too and hosts, Patricia and Neil very welcoming. The site is close to local villages with great places to eat and drink. We ate in the Masonic Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet and would definitely recommend. Overall a great site, highly recommend and hope to revisit soon.

This is the friendliest of campsites, with extra large pitches (we were in a tent). Excellent facilities, beautiful views and extremely helpful site owner. Our third time here, and will be back, hopefully later in 2023.

We had the best trip at the wigwam. Perfect location, cosy and everything on site we could ever need. Great hosts who were easy to reach and very responsive. The play park was a big hit with my 5 year old. The wigwam was spotless and the outdoor eating/bbq area was brilliant. We will definitely be back again!

Stayed in a 'wigwam' - literally perfect accomodation for us for a weeks walking in the area, as it is a camping pod with en suite toilet, combi oven, sink and kettle, comfy double bed, with shower block and kitchen building a moments walk away... Everything is there - local walking guides, nice information boards, covered private outdoor seating (with glorious views of sea, sky and forest), recycling bins, fire-pits (and logs for them) - all delivered in a fuss-free, welcoming manner. Great place. More power to them, and hope for many returns to this terrific spot...

Still as well kept and lovely as ever. Supersize pitches. Lovely owners. Great prices. Full of tents and camper vans with 1 or 2 caravans. A great location for travelling from and a nice walk through the wood to a small cove. if you are a keen walker or cyclist this is the place for you. Car needed otherwise. Child and dog friendly. Would revisit but not in the summer holidays as even though most people were quiet and respectful it was a bit noisy at times and constant flow of traffic in and out of the gate.(Does not affect people staying away from the top area). Had to change original dates hence why I was there in peak time. Cannot comment on facilities as used my own. Hoping to revisit. .
