We have just stayed at the Balmoral Hotel en route further north. It was only 10 mins from the motorway so a great stop off. Although the hotel looks a little tired from the outside and the reception area is non too appealing I cannot fault the rooms. They were absolutely spotless. This a pleasant clean hotel which was undergoing decoration whilst I was there. The staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good. There is plenty of free parking in the street outside outside of the hotel and in nearbye car parks. more

Excellent value, very good service, convenient and overlooking free public car park, sensible no frills menus and good food, large room and all facilities worked, free refreshments in the room. Best three star hotel we have visited. This Hotel may not suit infirm since there are no lifts. more
