we found the stag whilst travelling through moffat, we had a fantastic meal ( the steak and ale pie!!!! is great) and decided to stay the night, the room we had overlooked the high street and was comfortable, the bar area was busy woth friendly locals happy to chat and had an area to play pool or darts, hte breakfast was also lovley, definatley coming back more

Just got back from a 3 day trip to Scotland where me and a freind stayed at the Stag Hotel, which was fantastic. The staff, food, accommodation and bar where all excellent. received a warm welcome and smile from all the friendly staff. The food was first class both breakfast and evening meals. The room i stayed in was very well prepared, clean and a very good size. If your planning a trip to Moffat or anywhere in Scotland i would highly recomend the Stag Hotel.
