The bedroom and the bathroom were extremely small but we did know this before booking, the TV also was the smallest we have seen. It was their smallest and last doubleroom available and the price reflected this. It was a very cold night and the heating in our room was turned off at 9.00pm and was extremely cold soon after.... Lovely people and excellent service. Warm welcome. The room and bathroom were very clean. Comfortable beds offered. Excellent breakfast cooked to perfection. Spoilt for choice of buses with the bus stop just outside the gate. Hilarious Graham is wonderful and very helpful. Will stay at Brothaigh House again.

Bit of a mixed review for this guest house, so ups and downs: Downs: dated decor and a bit tired/old fashioned (carpet in en suite for example) and smallest TV we have ever seen in a hotel/guest house Ups: Great location, decent sized room, considering on main road very quiet (bird song tweeting away in morning), easy too get into... We arranged to book this bed and breakfast to stay one night with our pet whippet on Wed 20th June 2012 because their website advertised they took pets. I tried to call the b and b several times during the course of a whole day and evening and got no response from them, so I decided to book the room... More

Comfy room, good location for Edinburgh on foot (30 mins) or by bus (bus stop just outside). The breakfast was excellent ang Graeme was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Onl slight negative was the decor is a little dated but it was clean and tidy nd the bed was comfy. Good value fo money.

Graham the owner was very friendly and helpful, explained the bus system - very easy, booked a Gray tour for us and a taxi to the airport. The room and bathroom were small but very comfortable which we expected for a B &B in a Victorian building. Our tour departure was too early for the breakfast hour but Graham kindly... More

We had been recommended this B&B by friends and were not disappointed. It is close enough to the city centre to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We had a very early departure and Graham very kindly prepared a substantial "take away' breakfast for our trip... More
