The Gillis centre is unique. A former convent and seminary it is now a conference venue with rooms. The family room we had was spacious, b and b standard, if a little hot. It is no frills but the bathroom was ensuite and the breakfast whilst not cooked had a range of yoghurts etc to which you helped yourself. It has ample parking and is on a good bus route to central Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and helpful and the price was excellent for a city. Not for those who like luxury or are worried about religious objects. Just right if you dont mind quiet, solitude and access to the city. more
