Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went to the Sleeping Beauty Spa with a group of friends for a celebratory hen day. We had a great time using the pool and sauna (the steam room was out of use) and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and patient with such a big group! Special thanks to Meredith who provided my treatment, it’s rare to find a therapist with a sense of humour and she made my experience even better, thank you!

This hotel was a disappointment. It is old and tired with the front of house and bar staff barely making an effort. The tubs are dangerously high from the floor and two of our party experienced near falls despite using two points of contact exiting post shower. I have lovely bruises to show for my stay. The halls smelled musty. The breakfast was painfully mediocre. We previously stayed at the Radisson in London, which was amazing. I will most likely choose other hotels for my future holidays.

Situated near the bottom of the royal mile, it’s the perfect hotel if you’re driving and you want to be city central. Parking was just £15 a day for guests, the railway is a 5 min walk if we wanted to venture out without the car, but you are in walking distance for most of Edinburgh. We had the superior room which was very good. Secondary glazing did not stop all the street noise, but they do supply earplugs which we did use. The bathroom Is very small- the shower is awesome - great for long hair!!! Good pressure and easy to use. Very easy to use. Bad layout though as the glass shield door doesn’t really stop the water getting on the floor. There are free standing toiletries which are all lovely - but there are three bottles attached to the wall and they are not easy to use. Badly placed as when you finally get the nozzle to work it shoots out at a rate of Knott’s in the opposite direction to which you’re prepared for. Nice big cozy towels though. Rooms are lovely and clean, good room service. Comfortable bed although the beds are two singles put together with a dip in the middle. Free bottles of water each day which were very handy with water and fruit available in the lobby. The stairs are hard to find and not labelled which is not good I think. Swimming pool is quite small, but it’s a nice spa area with places to sit. We had breakfast one morning which was very nice - but it’s expensive compared to what you can get down the road. Although the automatic pancake maker is worth checking out.

Visited the hotel recently. It was in a great location, all of the staff were very friendly. The Junior Suite was spacious and ideal for two adults and two children. It could have easily accommodated another child in there. So many lovely little touches, like fresh water bottles each day, lots of lovely toiletries in the bathroom. You could help yourself to coffee and tea in Reception area. Both the swimming pool and gym were spotless. The minuses were that the bar area was a bit dark and lacked atmosphere. Normal hotel prices for drinks. The hotel is cashless, which I don’t understand, because cash is still Legal tender. I prefer to use cash but there was no option to do so. Great stay in a great city.

We visited Edinburgh for the weekend, as a group of friends. We had been walking all day and decided we would like a drink before dinner . We stopped at the Radisson. It as very busy and the bar was understaffed. We found seats and went to the bar. The bar staff were wonderful , even though really busy made us feel like we were their only guests. I must give a special mention to Julia . She made me what I can only describe as the best caramel iced coffee I have ever or likely to ever tasted in my life. Her espresso Martini was like a piece of art and tasted divine . Julia was so lovely efficient and I feel she deserved her own review. I will come back to Edinburgh just to see Julia and enjoy the best iced coffee ever.

External Scaffold Spoils This Hotel. Have stayed here a number of times on business. Easy to get to from the station, well located and great staff BUT the scaffolding is horrendous and no progress to getting it removed seems to being made. I won’t stay here again until the work (whatever work that is) is complete. It’s disgraceful how long the scaffold has been up

Most disappointed and underwhelming. Paid £385 for one night stay - bed and breakfast. From arriving at the car park to departure the whole way was disappointing. The staircase from the car park to reception was dirty and poorly signposted. If I had been on my own I would have felt intimated using the car park. The superior view bedroom was somewhat tired in decor and soft furnishings. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location but needs to up it’s game compared to local competition of which there is plenty nearly. Won’t be back.

Stayed here for a short stay. Upon early arrival I went to use the ladies bathrooms which filthy, sanitary pads overflowing from every bin, toilet strewn across the floor due to poor quality of the paper so it breaks before you can tear an adequate price. Upon bringing this to the front ladies attention she replied that it’s a busy period which is not unacceptable for the price of this hotel and doesn’t keep us with radisson standard. The room size was decent but that’s about it. There were crumbs in our bed and honestly can’t say I’d stay here again. Hilton is nearby as well and probably worth the extra price because this hotel has a lot to strive for in terms of cleanliness. Even the reception/lobby is untidy with cheap filter coffee on a self service station that just gives this hotel a motel feel overall.

When making a trip across the pond one may arrive very tired and ready for a rest at the hotel. No hassles please! We certainly found no hassles at The Radisson Blu Edinburgh! Paul and Helen greeted us with cheerful attitudes and a willingness to make our hotel experience a seamless one. We are very grateful for them! They helped us many times during our stay. After easily checking in we were off to our room expecting to see a charming but tight space with none of the amenities we are used to in American rooms. We were very surprised! We found a beautifully designed contemporary room with good lighting, many plug-ins for our phones and watches, a wonderfully comfy bed with the best pillows, a beautiful view of Edinburgh, plenty of comfortable seating, and a clean bathroom with ample space for our toiletries. A very pleasant room! We enjoy walking and exploring so the location was perfect for us - right in the middle of The Royal Mile! We plan to visit our family in Edinburgh twice more this year and we’ll plan to stay at the Radisson Blu!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family 2 night stay. Staff were very helpful from the time we arrived, helping us park when our roof box exceeded the car park height. Room exceeded our expectations, booked a family room and got interconnecting rooms. Food was delicious. Great location. Can't find any fault. Will book with radisson again. Thank you.
