Can't speak to the rest of the hotel services but had a lovely afternoon tea at the Howard. Service was excellent and very friendly. We arrived a little late in the day so they sat us in the library and told us we could have the room as long as we liked so we wouldn't feel rushed in the tearoom... More

My husband and I stayed for three nights in February and had a fabulous time. The customer service is excellent, nothing is too much trouble and it was a real treat to be brought complimentary tea and coffee to your suite at the press of a button. We really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the "full scottish" - perfect for setting... More

We stayed here again (2nd time) in April just for one night in the terrace suite. Everything about The Howard is just perfect for us. The staff are so lovely and they make you feel that you are the most important person in the world. Be warned - it is very difficult to get out of bed in the morning... More

Another perfect review for The Howard and I am most grateful to this guest for their kind words concerning every aspect of the hotel. I will look into whether we can indeed add furniture comfortably and safely to the terrace, and in the meantime, I look forward to welcoming this guest again to The Howard. My husband and I stayed at the Howard for 3 nights...and although the service was great, the hotel requires some repairs and upkeep. The hotel boasts 'butler service'...but aside from very helpful staff...especially 'Roy'..there was no butler service. Beds very comfortable and great location...but be prepared to haul your own bags up the front stairs and there certainly was no... More

We stayed at The Howard for 2 nights in a Junior Suite - Charlotte. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and taken to the Drawing Room and given a pot of tea and shortbread while our bags were taken to our room and our car parked. It was the most wonderful experience to stay in such an old worldly... More

Charming hotel within walking distance of most attractions. Our room was the Charlotte, it was grand and a bit quirky, with a sitting area and a bedroom area, the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and room service was fast and prompt. They also served evening drinks in the drawing room which seemed to be a step back in... More

We spent a couple of nights there, and it was way to little. The hotel are situated in a town house (actually 3) and are rather small with 18 rooms. There is a warmy "home" feel about it yet its setting are somewhat from the past. The rooms are spacious, really nice amenities and the service are really nice. The... More

We visited for my birthday and were given a deluxe double room. We were left waiting for quite some time before being showed to our room, we were quite happy to take the key and find it ourselves but were left for half an hour before a butler appeared. The room was beautiful and huge, I guess in places a... More

Overall a fantastic review and I am sorry to hear that there were a couple of elements that did not quite work for this guest such as the lack of tea tray, but this is,however, a standard we employ to ensure that the guest need not do anything for themselves but instead revel in the full service offering of the... First of all I would like to say that I was staying here for my Birthday so we were hoping for quite a good experience. Many thanks to this guest for such a terrific review and I am glad I was able to offer the opportunity for them to experience our Marchmont room. However, I must point out that it is most unusual for there be enough traffic on Great King Street to disturb our guests and this is by no means a common occurence.... More
