It's designer hell. Dark badly lit rooms. Loo roll holder away from the loo. All surfaces covered in objects so no where to put things. Lip service rather than real service. Bed not turned down even though we were told to leave off the do not disturb sign. News papers ordered not delivered etc. more

Edinburgh is the best place to visit and stay. I must admit we don’t go in for the cheap hotels but the service and the rooms make up for it. I would highly recommend Preston Field Hotel for its extravagant, decedent interior and its most welcoming staff. A very grandeur and opulent setting, from lush fabrics in every room to dim lighting, Prestonfield is the perfect getaway in the Edinburgh area. Amazing food, especially the breakfast - wonderful and full menu. It was a luxury retreat though some may find it a little over the top. If we could save up some more...we'd be there again! more
