We stayed 4 nights at this very quiet and peaceful club (also open to the public) in late November. Excellent full Scottish breakfasts and we had a very comfortable room on 2nd floor (no lift!!) with lovely views of the Firth of Forth. Bedside lighting was rather dim but otherwise would recommend. hello, i only stayed here one night but i can give the following details of my opinion of this accomodation, its in a street that runs parallel to princes street, from princes street to this hotel it takes 6 or 7 minutes to walk , there are lovely gardens between this hotel and prices street so its peaceful and quiet... more

I booked a room at The Royal Scots Club through laterooms.com and thought it was a reasonable rate for a room in a convenient location of the city until we saw the room, and we were caught totally off guard.. It was the "Mews Cottage" which is inconveniently located a long block and half around the back of the hotel... more

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Scots Club on 25th July and enjoyed our stay very much. The club is very traditional (note that there's a dress code for the dining room), but is also very peaceful and the staff are notably friendly - it is the latter quality, in particular, which lightens the otherwise slightly archaic formality... more

Just wanted to compliment the staff, particularly Morag and William at the front desk -- but everyone, actually -- for their kind attention.Service discreet but efficient. It's a great base in Edinburgh -- close to nice shops in the New Town and 20 minutes' to the castle. Nice breakfasts too. Good restaurants closeby. This is the second time I've reviewed this, and one year on it is still as good as the first time. This time the room was only £95. The room was at the front this time. This has the advantage that you overlook Queen St gardens, but the disadvantage that it is a lot noisier than rooms at the back.... more

Large spacious rooms with big beds. A taste of old world charm and character. Good location within 5 minutes walk of main shops on Princess Street. Tasty breakfast as well. For the money £100/night you can't beat it! more
