A short and picturesque walk from the city centre. Staff really went the extra mile to help, including making reservations and finding menus for restaurants. The hotel has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, which was very nice for our stay in February. Our rooms were well-heated, with warm and comfortable beds and two large armchairs to sit in by the... Thank you for your review and I am pleased you enjoyed most of you stay with us. It is great to received particularly lovely comments regarding the service from the team. I am disappointed regarding breakfast issues which is this is certainly not Channings standard and I do appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I hope we will have... More

A bit of a distance from the centre but just within walking distance on a quiet road. The hotel has friendly helpful staff with nice clean rooms although slightly small but acceptable. Restaurant ok strange menu one expensive and limited the other cheaper and more extensive! Very good breakfast, overall well worth staying here. More

We stayed here for one night at the start of February 2012. The hotel is in a fairly good location, about a 15 minute walk to Princess Street. The staff were excellant, very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. The only downside was that I thought our room was slightly dated and possibly needed refurbished. I dont know... Stayed here in November for one night as had meeting in New Town next morning. Got excellent late deal from hotels own website with breakfast included. Arriving on a Sunday there was free street parking outside the hotel but had to move car by 8 a.m. next morning. Lovely hotel, great staff, beautiful spacious room and location enabled us to... More

We stayed here for our anniversary and had dinner as well. The hotel is stylish and luxurious without being stuffy. The staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The location is great, in a quiet part of the Georgian New Town but still close to the centre of town. Our room was a standard double but was still spacious.... More

Stayed at Channings for the first time and can thoroughly recommend it - the picture of the hotel does not do it justice. Inside it has the look, feel and service of a 5 star hotel - the room on the 3rd floor was the best I've seen in the UK with a fantastic bathroom. The breakfast (and service) was... More

Just returned from an overnight stay at Channings. This was our 4th visit and we can't recommend this hotel enough. Truly a 5 star service in a 4 star establishment. The wonderful staff, food, ambience, location, etc make this hotel an absolute must for anyone visiting Edinburgh. My husband and I are very proud Scots and knowing that there is... More

I am not often moved to write a review but within 30minutes of arriving I was already imagining what I would write. As soon as we walked through the entrance we were welcomed by the nicest and (certainly in our experience) best concierge, Scott. Our room was ready early (the trains ran well, who'd have thought?!!) so we were quickly... More

We spent New Years in Edinburgh and lucked out by staying at the Channings Hotel. We arrived early, due to flight schedules and we were warmly welcomed before 9:00 and promptly shown our room that was much larger and modern than expected. With our first time in Edinburgh, we were also provided superb front office help in getting ourselves acquainted... More
